Michelle LoRicco - Directing

As a director, I love collaborating with talented artists to bring a story to life. My primary goal in the rehearsal space is to help everyone feel comfortable stepping into their roles, whether as actors or designers, to trust their instincts. I dive deep into dramaturgy in pre-production to establish the rules of the world of the play, and I empower my fellow artists to play within those rules. In most cases, those rules are discovered throughout the process; those are the moments I live for! For each play/musical/piece I direct, my goal is to create a strong ensemble of players and technicians, as well as produce a beautifully-detailed experience for the audience, full of heart and resonating themes.
